Medfit Run for Hope Another Huge Success!

On October 14, 2006, the 2nd Annual MedFit Run/Walk for Breast Cancer was held in Connersville, Indiana. Thanks to JttC volunteer Renee Zumkeller, we were fortunate enough to be chosen as beneificiaries of the funds raised in the Inaugural 2005 Run/Walk.
This year, the event's organizers planned an even bigger and better event, netting hundreds more walkers/runners and nearly $2000 for JttC. Survivors shared stories of hope and inspiration, promoters encouraged early screening and prevention, local businesses donated door prizes as volunteers came together to display their unified agenda to continue fighting breast cancer.
Tears were shed, hugs were shared, hope was contagious and fun was had by all. Just across the park, the Connersville Altrusa Club held their Annual Chili Cook-Off, where JttC sponsored a breast cancer awareness booth and sold our handmade exclusive awareness bracelets. Look for us there in 2007, where we will be honing our chili making skills!
